Tournament Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

1. Eligibility

All participants must have a valid SAGUPA player profile to register for tournaments. Players must accurately declare their skill level and division eligibility. Organizers reserve the right to reassign players to appropriate divisions based on observed skill level.

2. Registration & Payment

Tournament registration is processed through the Platform. Payment methods and fees are determined by individual tournament organizers. Registration is confirmed only after payment verification by the organizer. Players will receive a status update (Submitted → Approved/Rejected) upon organizer review.

3. Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellation and refund policies are set by individual tournament organizers. Generally, cancellations made before the registration deadline may be eligible for a refund. No-shows on tournament day forfeit their registration fee. In case of event cancellation by the organizer, refund policies will be communicated directly.

4. Code of Conduct

All participants are expected to:

  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times
  • Respect opponents, referees, organizers, and spectators
  • Arrive at their designated court on time for scheduled matches
  • Follow official pickleball rules unless otherwise specified by the organizer
  • Refrain from using abusive language or unsportsmanlike behavior
  • Accept referee decisions as final during play

5. Match Rules

Unless otherwise stated by the organizer, all tournaments follow standard pickleball rules. Games are played to 11 points (win by 2). Match formats (best of 3, round-robin, single elimination, etc.) are determined by the tournament organizer and communicated prior to the event.

6. Disputes & Protests

On-court disputes should be addressed to the assigned referee immediately. Formal protests must be submitted to the tournament organizer within 15 minutes of the disputed match conclusion. The organizer's decision on disputes is final. SAGUPA as a platform does not arbitrate tournament disputes.

7. Weather & Force Majeure

In case of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, organizers may postpone, reschedule, or modify the tournament format. Decisions regarding weather delays will be communicated through the Platform and on-site announcements.

8. Liability Waiver

By registering for a tournament, participants acknowledge that pickleball involves physical activity and inherent risks of injury. Participants agree to hold harmless SAGUPA, OfCourse Training Center, tournament organizers, and venue operators from any claims arising from participation.

9. Equipment

Players are responsible for bringing appropriate equipment and attire. Court shoes are required. Tournament organizers may provide official game balls. Equipment that does not meet official standards may be disallowed at the referee's discretion.
